Accessing Your Books on FluencyLink & Joining Your Teacher’s Class

New Users: Creating Your Account
Students who either purchase their Cheng & Tsui digital books directly from Cheng & Tsui, from their school bookstore, or receive their Cheng & Tsui digital books from their school bookstore as part of their financial aid package, will be provided an access code.
This access code is required to register a new user account on fluencylink.com. Once registered, this access code will also unlock the books and any other materials associated with your license.
1. Go to fluencylink.com.
2. Scroll down and click Sign up.

Click New user? Register here.

3. Enter your information in the registration fields.
We recommend that you use your school email to register your account. If you do not have a school email, use another email.
Paste your access code in the Access Code field. If you received more than one access code, paste one of them here. Instructions for how to activate your remaining access codes can be found at the bottom of this guide.
Confirm that you have read the Privacy Policy by selecting the checkbox.

4. Click the Register button.
5. You will see a confirmation message that the account has been registered. Click Okay, which will log you into your FluencyLink account.

Click OK, which will log you into your FluencyLink account.
6. You will see your book(s) on the Dashboard Library.

At this point, you have the individual user account view. You can access your digital books, but you will not see other options related to being a student in a class.
- If you are using FluencyLink with your instructor, ask for the Class Enrollment Token. Once you receive this token from your instructor, follow the steps below under Joining Your Class.
- If you are an independent learner, you have finished registering and should be able to access your materials after this step.
Joining Your Class
The act of joining a class will convert your user account profile from a simple user to a student user. After you join your instructor’s class, you will continue to see your books on your dashboard along with some additional features available to students on the FluencyLink platform.
1. Click the round icon in the upper-right corner, then select Access Code.

Click your account name in the upper-right corner of the FluencyLink screen to open the drop-down menu and select Account.

2. Make sure you select Enrollment Token. In the Paste Here box, paste the token you received from your instructor, then click the Add button.

In the Add Class Enrollment Token field, paste the token you received from your instructor and click the Add button.

3. You will get a message to log out and log back in. Click OK. Next, click the round icon in the upper-right corner, then select Sign Out.

You will get a message to log out and log back in. Click OK. Click your account name in the upper-right corner of the FluencyLink screen to open the drop-down menu and select Logout.

4. After logging back in, you will see that your user view has converted to the student view.

5. In the upper right of the screen, click on the round icon and select Access Code from the drop-down menu.

In the upper right of the screen, click on the account name and select My Account from the drop-down menu.

6. You will see that you are now associated with your instructor’s class.

Adding Additional Access Codes / Purchasing Additional Book Subscriptions
After your user account has become a student user account, follow these steps to add additional access codes that came with your order or new access codes from a later order.
1. Click the round icon in the upper-right corner, then select Access Code.

Click your account name in the upper-right corner of the FluencyLink screen to open the drop-down menu and select My Account.

2. Make sure you select Access Code. In the Paste Here box, paste the access code and click the Add button. You will see your new book(s) on your dashboard.

In the Add Access Code field, paste your new access code and click the Add button. You will see your new book(s) on your dashboard. If these new materials are for your current class, you can stop here. If your new books are for a different class, proceed to step 3.

Joining a Different Class
If you need to leave your current class, because you have dropped it, and want to join another instructor’s class, you must first ask your instructor to unroster you from your current class. You will also need to receive a new token from your new instructor. The same steps apply if you are switching classes with the same instructor.
1. Ask your current instructor to unroster you from their class. Ask your new instructor to provide you with the token for your new class.
2. Click the round icon in the upper-right corner, then select Access Code. You should see that you are no longer part of a class.

3. Make sure you select Enrollment Token. In the Paste Here box, paste the token you received from your instructor and click the Add button.

4. You will see that you are now associated with your new instructor’s class.
